Position Summary

Deluxe Spain seeks an exceptionally creative and technically skilled Senior Sound Designer to join our Creative Sound Team. This role is ideal for a visionary sound artist who excels at crafting immersive and emotionally compelling soundscapes for feature films and TV series.

The Senior Sound Designer will be responsible for designing and implementing high-end sound effects, atmospheres, and audio textures that enhance storytelling and elevate production impact. The role involves close collaboration with directors, editors, and rerecording mixers to shape the sonic identity of each project, requiring a meticulous ear for detail and a deep understanding of cinematic storytelling.

We seek someone with exceptional artistic instincts, a passion for innovation, and extensive experience in immersive formats like Dolby Atmos.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Creative Sound Design & Audio Implementation
2. Conceptualize and design original, high-quality sound effects, atmospheres, and audio textures for feature films and TV series.
3. Work closely with directors, editors, and rerecording mixers to develop a unique and compelling sonic identity for each project.
4. Design and implement custom Foley and environmental sounds to enhance realism and immersion.
5. Utilize advanced synthesis, layering, and processing techniques to create high-impact, emotionally resonant soundscapes.
6. Technical & Workflow Management
7. Operate industry-standard DAWs (Pro Tools HDX, Nuendo) and sound design tools to create, edit, and manipulate complex sound elements.
8. Ensure sound design elements are optimized for Dolby Atmos, 5.1/7.1 surround sound, and other immersive formats.
9. Collaborate with the mixing team to ensure seamless integration of sound elements into the final mix.
10. Manage and organize large-scale sound libraries, maintaining efficiency and accessibility.
11. Stay updated on sound design trends, techniques, and technologies, bringing fresh ideas and innovation to each project.
12. Explore and implement cutting-edge immersive audio technologies, including AI-assisted sound design tools and advanced convolution reverb techniques.
13. Experiment with field recordings, synthesis, and unconventional sound sources to create unique textures.
14. Guide and mentor junior sound designers, sharing knowledge and refining best practices.
15. Contribute to the development of sound design workflows and pipelines.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Sound Designer in feature films or high-end TV series, and:

• Possess a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative and technical sound design skills.
• Have a deep understanding of cinematic storytelling and how sound contributes to narrative impact.
• Be proficient in Pro Tools HDX, Nuendo, and industry-standard sound design plugins (e.g., Reformer Pro, Soundminer, Altiverb, Envy, GRM Tools).
• Master Dolby Atmos workflows and immersive sound design principles.
• Experience with Foley recording, field recording, and advanced sample manipulation techniques.
• Be highly creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about crafting immersive soundscapes.
• Possess strong collaboration and communication skills, capable of translating creative direction into compelling audio.
• Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
