As a Database Administrator, you will join the Engineering team within the Enablement Squad, focused on delivering the best possible customer experience by ensuring the uptime, scalability, and performance of our products. Our systems must be highly resilient, extremely low-latency, and capable of scaling to support massive volumes. You’ll collaborate with fellow Database Administrators, Architects, and Product Engineering teams to keep everything running optimally today, while also paving the way for a highly automated, service-driven future.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Database Administration
• Perform core MS SQL Server administration tasks, including backups, availability group maintenance, version upgrades, and infrastructure management.
• Manage and optimize database partitioning strategies.
• Ensure compliance with security principles and best practices.
• Administer and analyze Azure SQL Databases.
• T-SQL Development and Optimization
• Conduct T-SQL code reviews and provide mentoring.
• Perform index tuning and optimization.
• Design and implement data extraction procedures.
• Monitor performance and apply proactive tuning methods.
• Database Process and Infrastructure Automation
• Develop and maintain database automation pipelines using Azure DevOps and PowerShell.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• On-Call Rotation
• Participate in an on-call support rotation for database-related incidents.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a MS SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Deep expertise in performance tuning and T-SQL optimization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Comfortable making decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• University degree or equivalent knowledge and practical experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Expert-level proficiency in MS SQL Server administration.
• Strong skills in query performance tuning and T-SQL development.
• Experience managing databases with high transaction throughput.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance migrations.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and modern data pipeline technologies.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Sharp attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours on-call rotations.
