Your new team

We are a medium-sized, globally distributed design team headed by Benny Zuffolini, Kyrsten McCartney, Jag Rai, and Catherine Stuart. We are dedicated to the Language Learning sector of Pearson, with its multiple product families and diverse audiences. Our team works across UX / UI Design, UX Writing, UX Research, and Service Design. We bring together diverse backgrounds, cultures, seniorities, and neurotypes, creating a dynamic environment with opportunities for growth. Although we are spread across different geographies, we primarily collaborate with stakeholders in European time zones.

The Skills You Will Need

You will collaborate daily with product managers, researchers, engineers, and QA in an agile environment to deliver user-centric solutions. You’ll be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping to testing and implementation, ensuring accessible and seamless user experiences. The key skills required include:

• Translating product briefs into tangible artefacts: creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and other tools to help the team understand the user perspective and think ahead.
• Strong UI and interaction design skills: designing static and dynamic components to enhance engagement and usability.
• Responsive design skills: designing layouts across various screen sizes; app design experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of Design Systems: contributing to and maintaining consistency across products.
• Proficiency in Figma: expert in using Figma for design, prototyping, and collaboration.
• Ability to translate research into actionable insights: interpreting UX research and analytics to refine designs; conducting usability tests.
• Adaptability: prioritizing product and user needs, open to feedback and iterative processes.
• Collaboration: working seamlessly with designers and cross-functional teams, including experience in running workshops is a bonus.
