JOB DESCRIPTION

Calucem is a specialty cement producer with around 100 years of experience in Calcium Aluminate Cement (CAC).

After nearly a century as leaders in calcium aluminate cement solutions, Calucem is now renewing its visual identity to align with Molins, the company it belongs to, symbolized by a new logo that shares the same purpose: driving social development and improving people's quality of life through innovative and sustainable construction solutions.

We are seeking a highly experienced Laboratory Manager responsible for the global technical centre. The role involves providing laboratory support to global sales and technical teams to ensure sales development aligns with company ambitions.

The Laboratory Manager oversees the development of laboratory know-how, manages project deliverables (R&D, innovation, product development), leads the laboratory team in work organization, skills development, safety, and equipment supervision, and reports to the CCTO, consolidating information to monitor company performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Laboratory Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting customers across all sales regions and fields of application (building chemistry, refractories, rapid hardening binders, etc.).
  • Managing the laboratory team, advising, and evaluating laboratory test methods.
  • Ensuring safety, supply, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Following up on customer projects and supporting sales through laboratory visits.
  • Understanding customer requirements and implementing them in research projects and upstream customer trials.
  • Managing research and development projects with customers and external partners.
  • Formulating products and developing branch-specific solutions.
  • Leading new product development and meeting customer expectations, coordinating lab test series with Technical Managers.
  • Ensuring timely completion of analyses.
  • Collaborating on project work, developing, and optimizing new or alternative binders.
  • Preparing reports and supporting report development.
  • Assisting in preparing data for marketing and technical support documentation.
  • Attending courses and training as required by the employer.
  • Adhering to all procedures, quality plans, and safety regulations, including environmental and hazardous waste management.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by superiors, within professional competence and physical and mental capacity.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a professional who meets the following criteria:

  • Skills in project and team management, CAC clinker knowledge, mortar formulations, customer support, and building chemistry, with a relevant academic network.
  • Strong communication skills, innovation, flexibility, entrepreneurship, safety awareness, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
