About the role

The Browser Technology Team (BTG) develops cutting-edge technology to make users more productive through an enhanced, more secure web browser experience.

What's in it for you

As a member of the Browser Technology team, you will work cross-functionally to build and scale the next secure web browser experience for users. You will solve challenging problems in distributed systems at large scale: performance, scalability, high availability, monitoring, visibility, and analytics. You will also be exposed to advanced Web technologies such as Chromium and highly distributed network features. We are looking for a software engineer passionate about testing and motivated to create impactful developer experiences. We want engineers who love to write code to test, have the aptitude to find ways to break things, understand how cloud services should work, and can build automation for daily tasks that machines can run.

What you will be doing

• Reviewing product specifications and writing test cases, developing test plans for assigned areas in the Engineering team for Browser Technology.
• Developing expertise in our cloud security solutions and using that expertise to help design and qualify the solution as a whole.
• Contributing to building a flexible and scalable automation solution by designing test plans with clear separation of functional, integration, regression, and exploratory tests to ensure application quality.
• Building state-of-the-art tools to improve the testing process.
• Working closely with the development and design teams to help create an excellent user experience.
• Helping to create and implement quality processes and requirements.
• Working closely with the team to replicate customer environments.
• Identifying and communicating risks about our releases, ensuring our solutions deliver value to our customers.
• Owning and making quality decisions for the solution.
• Owning the release and advocating for the customer.

Required skills and experience

• 10 years of experience in the field of SDET, with a proven track record of motivation and capability to develop creative, innovative, and effective solutions collaboratively.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C, Go, or Javascript.
• Experience working with Web Engines and modern browsers is a significant advantage.
• Experience testing distributed systems.
• A proponent of strong Quality Engineering methodology.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux systems.
• Experience building automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of Web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Drone.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in issues and decision-making.
• An energetic self-starter with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, capable of wearing multiple hats.

Education

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent required; MS in Computer Science or equivalent strongly preferred.
