Job Description :

Commercial Data Governance Lead

For the expansion of our Business Information Systems (BIS) team, argenx is seeking a Data Governance Lead focused on the Commercial and Medical Affairs functions.

The Data Governance Lead establishes, deploys, and enforces policies and procedures for end-to-end data governance to ensure proper data use and maintenance. They work closely with technical and system architecture teams to define operational processes for monitoring policy compliance and coordinate data stewards to address data quality issues. The goal is to promote efficient, accurate records and effective information management across argenx, leveraging a deep understanding of the data environment and collaborating with key stakeholders in both commercial and technical teams.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Oversee the integrity, usability, and security of all data assets.
• Check compliance against data governance policies and standards.
• Document policies following best practices.
• Collaborate with data stewards to identify and resolve data quality issues and track remediation efforts.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance compliance and data quality.
• Implement data quality monitoring and improvement measures to meet business-defined thresholds.
• Guide data stewards in monitoring activities and support reporting of enterprise-wide data quality metrics.
• Ensure governance and decision-making mechanisms are in place for cross-team dependencies.
• Support deployment activities, including maintaining an up-to-date data catalog and ensuring consistent data definitions.
• Maintain awareness of industry best practices to ensure deployment of effective solutions.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications :

• 8-10 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical company or consulting organization within the life sciences sector.
• At least 5 years in a data management role.
• Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data for business decisions; capable of strategic and hands-on work.
• Operational knowledge of data governance, data quality methods, storage repositories, and tools.
• Experience designing and deploying automated data quality tools (e.g., RPA for repetitive tasks).
• Experience working with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and cataloging solutions (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
• Understanding of industry regulations (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, GDPR).
• Ability to collaborate with team members and develop analytical and reporting solutions.
