Job Description

This role supports the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The selected candidate will represent International SOS and deliver the services outlined below.

The responsibilities include providing anesthesia services, including preoperative assessments, intraoperative management, postoperative care, documentation, resident supervision, and ensuring compliance with AAA and JC standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Perform and document preanesthetic assessments, request consultations, select medications, and obtain informed consent.
  2. Develop and administer anesthetic plans, including general, regional, or local anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care.
  3. Administer anesthetics and adjuvant drugs, manage physiologic homeostasis, and respond to surgical responses.
  4. Apply and interpret monitoring modalities to assess patient status.
  5. Manage airway and respond to emergencies.
  6. Oversee emergence and recovery, manage pain relief, and provide follow-up care.
  7. Collaborate with other services to establish safe anesthesia practices.
  8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  9. Ensure 24/7 availability of anesthetic care for all patients.
  10. Be on-call as necessary.

Qualifications

Experience / Certification Required :

  • Board Eligible or Certified in Anesthesia.
  • DEA License.

Education Required :

  • Medical degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian institution.
  • Valid, active medical license in the U.S. or its territories.
  • Current BLS certification; AHA BLS preferred.

Physical Requirements :

  • Work in typical office environment; sit and stand for prolonged periods.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Qualifications :

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
  • Willing to relocate and obtain VA Public Trust Clearance.

Additional Information :

We are an equal opportunity employer. Compensation ranges from $265,000 to $313,000, based on experience and other factors. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid time off, and bonuses. Final salary will depend on qualifications and market data.
