About the role... A OT Expert Analyst works closely with local site automation engineers, regional automation working group, and integrators to leverage technology use, improving automation communication networks, virtualization, cybersecurity, and industrial connectivity in general. They are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring such technology within a regional scope.
Main Accountabilities
- Define and maintain OT network and security architecture, ensuring segregation between IT and OT networks in alignment with global OT security policies.
- Collaborate with IT and regional automation teams to implement OT global network and cybersecurity standards.
- Execute network configurations, firewall rule implementations, and security hardening measures for OT environments.
- Participate in regional automation working groups, contributing to best practices for wired and wireless network strategies, virtualization, and firewall deployments.
- Manage and maintain OT servers' network layer, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance with operational requirements.
- Oversee OT system remote access solutions to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
- Support network virtualization management and monitoring, leveraging VMware and other platforms.
- Conduct assessments to identify gaps, evaluate risks, and define roadmaps for OT network security improvements.
- Lead the implementation of maintenance, upgrades, and new network security projects in collaboration with operational units.
- Ensure secure integration and data communication between different network layers, adhering to cybersecurity protocols.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments on OT networks and implement necessary security controls.
- Identify security issues and gaps, providing mitigation plans.
- Enable secure data communication between process historians for operational analysis.
- Work with industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, OPC UA & DA, Profinet, Ethernet, and DeviceNet.
- Prepare and present technical documents, reports, and network security evaluations.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to local site automation engineers in network security best practices.
Knowledge & Technical Competencies
- Knowledge Tools: storytelling, curiosity, resilience, organization, urgency in prioritization.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of industrial automation environments, including SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Familiarity with cloud-based OT security solutions and industrial data analytics.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), preferably Siemens PCS7.
- Familiarity with industrial firewall solutions and secure remote access.
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols and cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST, etc.).
- Network, server, firewall, VMware, backup, Windows servers, or Antivirus administration knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and network segmentation strategies.
- Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles in OT environments.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Engineering, and/or +3 years of operational technology, IT/OT experience.
- Advanced English and regional language skills if applicable.
- Experience working in a multinational environment across multiple sites and regions.
