At ING, we are looking for a Feature Engineer.

Your role and work environment:

We seek a talented and enthusiastic Feature Engineer to join our Data Management Tribe.

The team's responsibility is to maintain and evolve the data platform supporting the bank's daily operations.

Your key responsibilities:

1. Provide knowledge, vision, and structure to help find solutions to programs or complex IT environments.
2. Define and collaborate with IT strategy.
3. Refine technical solution directions and dependencies drafted in the Epic in coordination with the Enterprise Architect, Domain Architect, Squad members, and IT Chapter lead, utilizing your in-depth IT/application knowledge.
4. Verify the functionality of realized Features, facilitate Feature planning, and coordinate between Squads and the Tribe Team, maintaining close relationships with business counterparts.
5. Create roadmaps and contribute to the strategy of assets with an IT perspective for major transformations or complex changes.
6. Guide squads to find the best solutions aligned with the IT strategy and tribe needs, prioritizing epics and features.
7. Help align and resolve dependencies between squads.
8. Assist in preparing the QBR and Market Places.
9. Maintain contact with stakeholders at all levels within ING to achieve shared goals.
10. Drive the identification of relevant trends for the bank.
11. Serve as a go-to expert in specific areas of knowledge for engineers from other disciplines.
12. Translate epics into features for development by software engineers, helping them understand dependencies and collaborating with the domain architect.

What are we looking for?

• A person with a clear strategic vision of the bank and IT objectives.
• Understanding of the technology strategy applied to the tribe's assets or products.
• Experience as a software engineer, architect, or similar with a technical background.
• High knowledge of the infrastructure and IT assets within the tribe domain.
• Skills to influence and manage stakeholders.
• Ability to work rapidly based on intuition rather than step-by-step reasoning.
• Ability to distinguish between important and less important details.
• Flexibility and adaptability to face uncertainty, acquire knowledge across disciplines, and update it regularly.
• Assertiveness in communication, clear and direct but appropriate.
• Experience in refining and designing features, advising Product Owners on dependencies and priorities.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Experience designing and developing solutions in Data Platform Ecosystems, Microservices Architectures, DataOps, DWH, DL Patterns, and data consumption.
• Experience with Oracle, IBM suite, and/or Azure is a plus.
