Zynga is searching for a world-class Senior 3D Character Artist to join a dynamic, growing team! As a Senior 3D Artist, you will be expected to create high-quality 3D assets quickly and effectively. You should have a strong understanding of artistic fundamentals in both 2D and 3D, and a passion for character-focused art.

Main Responsibilities

1. Create high-quality 3D character art efficiently.
2. Interpret specifications and directions from design and the Art Director.
3. Identify inconsistencies and suggest improvements within the creative process.
4. Estimate costs for art requests accurately.
5. Support and refine the Art Director’s vision.
6. Research and communicate best practices in art.
7. Participate in critique sessions and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.
8. Communicate progress effectively to the North American team.

Desired Skills and Experience

1. 5+ years of professional experience in video games.
2. Strong understanding of the 3D character pipeline, including:

• Low-poly modeling in Maya (mobile optimized)
• UV unwrapping
• Texture baking in Substance Painter or Marmoset
• Texture creation in Substance Painter
• Optimization for mobile platforms

Excellent art fundamentals, including character design, color theory, lighting, shape, and form.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Experience with Battle Royale, MOBA, or Shooter genres is a plus.
