Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain APIs using Ruby on Rails;
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand API requirements and specifications;
3. Ensure API performance, scalability, and security;
4. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code;
5. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions;
6. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance.

Must Have Skills

• 3+ years of experience working with Ruby on Rails;
• Strong command of API design patterns and best practices in Rails;
• Solid understanding of HTTP protocols and JSON data structures;
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL);
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows;
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setup;
• Working hours mostly follow LATAM time zone, with a 4-hour overlap with MDT. For Europe-based candidates, a minimum of 2-hour overlap with MDT is required — more overlap is preferable.

Nice to Have

• Experience with background job processing (e.g., Sidekiq);
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger / OpenAPI);
• Exposure to Docker or other container technologies;
• Experience working with distributed teams.
