Job Responsibilities
- Manage accounting for our Spanish subsidiary, acting as the interface to limehome HQ Finance team in Germany.
- Ensure accurate reconciliations, timely financial reporting, and smooth communication with external stakeholders.
- Oversee monthly and annual closings, contributing to the development of the accounting team.
- Handle monthly and yearly closing activities, including filing tax declarations in collaboration with tax advisors and local colleagues.
- Support and train the accounting team on technical matters.
- Serve as the point of contact for external stakeholders such as tax authorities and government agencies.
- Coordinate with limehome HQ Finance team, local tax advisors, and auditors; support special projects in Spain (e.g., tax setup, M&A, banking).
- Provide financial controlling and budgeting support to the Spanish General Manager.
- Manage accounting activities for smaller subsidiaries alongside local lawyers and tax advisors.
- Develop efficient processes for the accounting department, acting as the interface between the team and the global accounting lead.
Minimum Requirements
- Business or accounting & finance-related university degree or equivalent vocational training.
- Knowledge and experience with Spanish GAAP and tax legislation, especially VAT; familiarity with Portuguese GAAP is a plus.
- Proficient in Spanish and English; additional European languages are a plus.
- 6-10 years of experience in a similar role within start-ups, growth environments, or tax advisory/audit firms.
- Good command of Microsoft Office and accounting systems (e.g., Ubiquo, Sage, ERP systems).
