Formación

We are looking for an experienced Technical Superintendent to join a leading provider of maritime services in Spain. The company operates across major national ports and delivers a wide range of services including port operations, towage, mooring, and technical support. With a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and sustainability, the organization plays a key role in supporting maritime logistics and port infrastructure operations.

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical performance of assigned vessels. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance, manage budgets, plan dry-dockings, and promote operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily technical operations of assigned vessels, ensuring continuous operability and efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on vessel performance, maintenance, budget compliance, and any incidents.
  • Coordinate and manage dry-docking, refits, major repairs, and mobilizations within budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare and manage technical budgets in collaboration with finance and procurement departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all class, flag state, and international maritime regulations.
  • Lead onboard inspections to assess vessel condition, safety, and crew competence.
  • Supervise maintenance and repairs, both internally and via third-party contractors.
  • Promote a strong safety culture onboard, in coordination with HSEQ departments.
  • Manage procurement of spare parts and supplies, optimizing logistics and minimizing costs.
  • Support project development and provide technical input to port office projects.
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and investigations.
  • Represent the company with clients, suppliers, and shipyards.

Key Requirements

Qualifications :

  • Class 1 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) or Class 2 with extensive recent experience.
  • Merchant Navy background is essential.
  • Additional business or management qualifications are a plus.

Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technical Superintendent.
  • Background with commercial vessels over 500 GRT is essential (tugs, AHTS, offshore preferred; deep sea also considered).
  • Proven expertise in dry dockings, mobilizations, repairs, and vessel maintenance.
  • Familiarity with ISM, ISPS, Class, and Flag State regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment and managing diverse teams.
