A Lead Statistician builds and leads teams of statisticians and representatives from other functions, ensuring the use of appropriate and efficient statistical analysis methods during development, submission, and/or lifecycle management of Bayer products, according to applicable standards, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. The Lead Statistician also represents projects to line management and governance boards.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Lead the statistical aspects of a project within the Statistics Sub-Cluster, acting as Project Statistician.
2. Lead virtual teams of statisticians and/or cross-functional representatives.
3. Contribute to the development and evolution of project standards.
4. Provide statistical and methodological consultation within multidisciplinary teams.
5. Respond to inquiries from health authorities and partners.
6. Stay updated on regulatory and methodological issues, ensuring their implementation.
7. Influence decision-making during drug development and lifecycle management using suitable statistical methodologies.
8. Develop and implement innovative statistical methods, collaborating with academic experts when appropriate.

Requirements:

PhD or MS in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Mathematics; minimum four years of experience in Pharma, Biotech, or similar; thorough knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and clinical drug development; team leadership experience; proficiency in SAS and/or R; fluency in English.
