Job Description

We seek a Full-Stack Software Engineer (mid-level or senior) with a background in web app development and a taste for building practical, usable solutions to kickstart our software engineering department. This role is vital for enabling our daily operations and developing new features and integrations to improve internal workflows. You will face many challenges requiring diverse solutions across multiple technologies, languages, and approaches. Adaptability is crucial, as you'll need to work across different tech stacks and learn new tools as we grow.

The goal? To enhance our internal transcription and catalog workflow and management, better integrate our internal processes, and improve daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with non-technical teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and implement solutions.
• Bootstrap new products to increase customer engagement : web applications, third-party API integrations (e.g., Spotify, YouTube), Chrome extensions, etc. There are many greenfield project opportunities at MSMT.
• Develop new features in our internal transcription management service, from requirements to testing, covering frontend and backend development.
• Upgrade our tech stack by introducing new frameworks, updating dependencies, migrating to better libraries and tools, shaping MSMT’s technology choices based on business and maintenance needs.
• Create data pipelines to integrate services such as our e-commerce platform, mail inboxes, score repositories, and internal management tools, choosing appropriate technologies for integration.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in full-stack web application development or equivalent in frontend and backend development.
• Familiarity with :
• Linux-based cloud servers and security best practices.
• CI / CD frameworks and practices.
• Docker in development and production environments.
• Building expressive, practical APIs (REST or GraphQL).
• SQL databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL) and ORMs.
• Third-party API integrations.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to manage technical debt while developing new features.
• Write clear, scalable, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Gather business requirements, plan technical tasks, and communicate results transparently.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of music notation.
• Experience with LLM-assisted tools like Cursor and interest in building products using LLMs.
