Formación

  • 6+ years of overall engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing full-stack applications.
  • 2+ years of DevOps experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM :

The Knot Worldwide is seeking a talented and driven Lead Engineer. The Knot is the nation’s leading wedding marketplace, providing our couples with a completely personalized experience that guides them through the entire wedding planning journey.

As a Lead Engineer, you’ll work to maintain all of our systems that serve content-oriented web pages, optimize them, and evolve them to meet stakeholder needs. You’ll also partner with other zone teams to ensure pages are optimized and can deliver high-performing features for our couples. You will collaborate closely with Product and Design Leads to iterate on product features. Our Product and Engineering teams work together at every phase of product development, from research and inception to release and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
  1. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to other engineers while reviewing code and coordinating feature launches.
  2. Participate actively in the ideation and execution of the product roadmap.
  3. Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver value to users and partners.
  4. Lead and facilitate decision-making during technical meetings.
  5. Spend at least 60% of your time producing well-tested, extensible code capable of handling 5M+ requests per day.
  6. Ensure technical KPIs around application maintenance, performance, and resiliency are met.
  7. Drive the technical roadmap, contribute to the codebase and infrastructure development.
  8. Promote best practices and continuous improvement in engineering and product processes.
  9. Produce maintainable code following mobile design guidelines, reviewing code from team members, and providing feedback.
  10. Participate in Agile development to architect, build, and ship new features.
  11. Manage releases ensuring QA and stakeholders are aligned.
  12. Contribute to company-wide architecture, data, and code pattern decisions.
  13. Coordinate with other squads working on different parts of our applications.
  14. Work closely with remote and international teams.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :
  1. 6+ years of overall engineering experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience implementing full-stack applications.
  3. 5+ years using React or other modern frontend frameworks; NextJS is a plus.
  4. 2+ years of DevOps experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
  5. Strong understanding of web performance, SEO, and analytics.
  6. Experience in an Agile, TDD environment.
  7. Experience building and maintaining scalable REST or GraphQL APIs.
  8. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  9. Mastery of design patterns and anti-patterns.
  10. Pair programming experience is a plus.
  11. Team player with multitasking abilities and a positive attitude.
  12. B.S. in Computer Science is a major plus.
