TotalEnergies aims to develop large-scale solar Utility Power Plants (UPP) with both public and private off-takers, primarily in Japan, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, and the USA. The company also focuses on global energy storage development. Iberia is a strategic region for these initiatives, with a goal to establish a significant UPP portfolio in Spain.
The Renewable Project Developer will be responsible for developing renewable projects and closely managing their execution in coordination with the Business Development, Operation, and Asset Management departments of TotalEnergies Renewables Iberica.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor and implement the company's H3SE policies, procedures, and programs throughout all project stages.
- Develop H3SE procedures and templates in the local language to incorporate country-specific requirements, based on company guidelines.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend solutions during all project phases, including design review and pre-construction.
- Assist Project Managers and departments to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and statutory requirements.
- Review HSE Plans, Procedures, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments to ensure compliance with company and local standards.
- Implement and maintain OHSAS 45001 and the corporate Maestro management system.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits during pre-construction, construction, and O&M phases to ensure adherence to HSE plans and procedures.
- Monitor the implementation of environmental and social mitigation measures during construction and O&M phases.
- Support Project Managers in implementing improvements, issuing prohibition notices to contractors, and setting up corrective actions, including close-out monitoring.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Ensure proper HSE training for staff and organize HSE promotion events, such as World Day for Safety & Environment, live saving checks, and stop cards programs.
- Verify the availability and condition of safety equipment, and report H3SE data.
Qualifications and Skills :
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a HSE management role.
- International H&S qualifications or certificates; environmental and security training are advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Spanish H&S legislation and environmental standards during construction.
- High precision and a zero-tolerance approach to HSE and technical excellence.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage high workloads, and make decisions, while being a team player.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to ethics, punctuality, and adherence to policies.
- Fluent in Spanish and English; knowledge of French or other languages is a plus.
- Basic understanding of environmental management and security protocols.
