Legal Counsel - Last Mile, EMEA

We are looking for a talented, customer-obsessed, and experienced Legal Counsel to join our EMEA Operations Legal team, based in Madrid. As Last Mile Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice to Amazon's fast-growing delivery business. The role requires high judgment, acumen, and the ability to think out of the box to adapt the legal framework to novel and unprecedented situations and business expansion plans.

Key job responsibilities

The successful candidate will advise on strategic expansion projects in the last mile sector in Spain and other expansion countries, providing guidance for senior executives and other business and legal team members on complex legal and regulatory matters. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements with key partners, handling complex litigation, and regulatory engagement.

A day in the life

You will be the primary legal counsel for senior leadership in the last mile business, including European and Global leadership. You will work closely with local and international business functions to address their legal needs and challenges. As a member of the EMEA Last Mile legal team, you will collaborate with international colleagues regularly.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Exceptional academic qualifications.
• Admission to the Spanish Bar.
• Minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience at a leading international law firm.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to act as a business partner to senior management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, follow through, and meet deadlines.
• Sound judgment, even in ambiguous situations, and the ability to make high-quality decisions quickly with limited information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluency in Italian.
• In-house experience is a plus.
