What are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our software development team focused on building an internal cloud-based actuarial solutions platform. The ideal candidate can independently design and develop API-driven web applications from concept to deployment, with a strong emphasis on cloud-first architecture. They should possess deep knowledge of general-purpose programming languages, frameworks, and modern deployment practices. This role involves solving complex and ambiguous technical challenges and effectively communicating both problems and solutions to product stakeholders and fellow developers.

Location : 100% remote for people based in Spain

Requirements for the role :

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases, and deployments
• Experience with a variety of general programming languages
• Experience with Test-Driven Development
• Experience with a variety of database technologies
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information
• Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a straightforward manner

Must-Have

• Node.js
• React
• Relational / NoSQL database
• AWS (Amazon Web Services, Step Functions, AWS Batch, Lambdas, ECS).

Nice to have

• Terraform
• Docker / Linux Containers and Container orchestration (e.g., ECS / Fargate)
• Jenkins / Github Actions

• Shell Scripting

Job Responsibilities :

• Collaboratively build and deploy effective and efficient applications with well-tested code.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support API-based systems focusing on industry best practices with a cloud-first emphasis.
• Implement timely decisions on complicated technical problems.
• Manage individual tasks and timelines with the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Support legacy systems while new ones are being built for launch and adoption by the business.
• Seek continuous quality improvements for supported systems.
• Mentor and coach teammates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work hours: Monday to Friday, 10-19, with several hours overlapping with the U.S. team.
