We are looking for a Powertrain Safety Engineer responsible for applying and managing the Safety of the Functional (SdF) process to identify and control system risks. The role involves ensuring high confidence in risk management during software development and providing official safety opinions (Avis SdF) at project milestones, which must be integrated by Project Managers into their Engagement Qualité Métier (EQMs).

What You Will Do

  1. Develop and manage safety plans: Create and oversee the Safety Plan, Development Interface Agreement (DIA), and the Safety Management Plan.
  2. Identify and prioritize risks: Identify and prioritize adverse events for the client (EIC) and define Reasonably Foreseeable Uses (URP).
  3. Define safety requirements: Establish safety functional requirements for supplier Requests For Quotation and develop action plans to address EIC and URP.
  4. Validate degraded modes: Identify and validate degraded modes, and define safety tests to be included in the validation plan.
  5. Ensure safety compliance: Define the Safety Compliance matrix and prepare reports with operational safety synthesis analysis.
  6. Provide safety opinions: Deliver safety opinions at project milestones and compile the Dossier de Démonstration de la Maîtrise du Risque Sécuritaire (DDMRS), while capturing and benchmarking difficulties and risks identified during the project.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering; PhD in ICE / Hybrids is a plus. Preferably in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering, or related to the automotive sector.
  • Minimum Experience: At least 5 years in powertrain safety or related fields.
  • Languages: Spanish and English mandatory; French highly appreciated.
  • Technical skills include expertise in powertrains and embedded software. Soft skills required are responsiveness to client safety concerns and strong interpersonal abilities.

What We Offer

  • A supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Opportunities to work on impactful projects.
  • Mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.
  • Opportunities to develop diverse skills, including communication.
  • Benefits: Competitive salary with fixed and variable components, life insurance, and pension plan.

We believe diversity drives innovation and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
