Your Role / Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Management: Schedule, manage, and follow up on all activities of the Collaboratorium, including project and financial reporting.
- Event Organisation: Organize themed symposiums, colloquia, regular seminar series with invited speakers, workshops, and summer schools.
- Communication and Outreach: Develop and implement a communication/marketing plan to enhance visibility. Manage outreach activities, including website content, newsletters, reports, and social media. Ensure effective internal communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, researchers, institutional partners, and funding agencies.
- Growth & Sustainability: Identify funding opportunities, contribute to grant writing, and develop strategic partnerships to expand the initiative’s impact.
- Administrative Tasks: Execute general administrative duties and contribute to EMBL Administrative Team operations.
You Have
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Research Management, Public Policy, Science, Business, or Communications).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within research, academia, or related sectors.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex projects and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; working knowledge of Spanish.
- Familiarity with research funding mechanisms and proposal development.
- Experience working abroad or in an international/multicultural environment.
- Flexibility, service-oriented attitude, start-up mentality, and good judgment.
- Experience in growing initiatives or programs.
- Knowledge of website curation, video management, and communications/design software.
- Understanding of project management processes.
- Advanced skills in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Contract Length: 3 years.
Salary: Grade 5.
