Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that shapes procurement strategy within an industry-leading organisation? We are seeking a seasoned Category Manager for Capital Expenditures (CapEx) and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO), based in Barcelona, Spain. This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your sourcing expertise and project management skills to drive strategic initiatives across our Global supply chain.

Reporting to the Head of Category for MRO & Capex you will lead procurement category strategies and strategic sourcing initiatives across 60 sites globally.

This is a brand new position and an opportunity for you to stamp your mark in a reputable multinational company embarking on a bold procurement transformation.

As part of this dynamic position :

• You will develop comprehensive long-range plans for assigned categories.
• Forge robust supplier contracts aimed at reducing total cost ownership.
• Work intimately with engineering teams optimizing equipment specifications for peak performance.
• Craft sub-category strategies aligned with overarching company goals.
• Educate internal stakeholders about contracted programs' benefits and applications.

Your responsibilities also include managing medium-to-complex projects while implementing standardised processes throughout multiple facilities. Your commercial acumen will ensure success during RFx procedures as well as negotiation phases leading up to awarding critical capital equipment purchases.

We're looking for someone who brings :

• A Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
• 5+ years experience in centralised sourcing of technical goods
• Mandatory Project Management know-how, preferably from multi-site / international contexts
• In-depth knowledge of RFI / RFP protocols related specifically to capital equipment / MRO domains
• Relevant procurement background within food processing / pharmaceutical / chemical industries
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish

To excel in this capacity, you must possess strong negotiation techniques coupled with self-motivation. A hands-on approach is essential! Time management prowess along with the ability to handle various assignments concurrently without compromising attention to detail and accuracy is paramount importance here too!
