Santander Auto Software is a greenfield programme, where we are building a brand-new, state of the art software platform and product suite for the auto finance industry, that will be rolled out in 13 countries across Europe and the UK.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

We are looking for a highly experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team, with a solid background in designing and building test frameworks, solutions & tooling from scratch for engineering teams to consume.

This role requires working across a broad range of technologies and liaises across all areas of the business to enable automated testing of the SAS applications. You will create and enhance automation frameworks & tooling with custom code designed to make testing specific applications easier for engineers resulting in a more reliable application.

In this role you will :

• Proactively identify gaps in the tooling and frameworks currently used to automate testing of SAS applications and suggest enhancements or additions that drive towards better quality outcomes.
• Focus on the design and development of test frameworks / solutions / tooling that can be leveraged by SAS engineering teams to automate testing.
• Provide consultancy and support to SAS engineering teams both in the use of internal test frameworks / tooling and test strategies for a wide range of scenarios
• Debugging solutions / tooling / scripts identifying flaws and improvements, Implementing changes as necessary.
• Develop and optimise CI / CD pipelines to build, test and deploy solutions.
• Provide support for the SAS platform's E2E smoke tests.
• Demonstrate an analytical approach to quickly determine the root cause of test failures.
• Build non-functional frameworks; Performance, load and security testing.
• Identify possible improvements within our software and provide detailed findings and feedback to engineering teams to ensure the positive integrations to improve our user's experience.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Track record of designing and developing test automation frameworks / tooling to be consumed by other engineering teams.
• Preferably experience implementing test strategies in a cloud based microservices environment.
• Detailed knowledge and practical experience of testing methodologies.
• Experience working in an agile organization and engineering teams.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong communicator across all levels
• Be a good team player, passionate about what you do with great listening and communication skills – you will be interacting with everyone – team members to leadership.
• Self-motivation, and comfort with working in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.

LOCATIONS

• SAS has implemented a working from home model. This means that your workplace is your home residence as aligned to your contract. We can hire in Spain, Portugal or the Netherlands.
