Descripción del empleo

Ops Engineer, MSP-CX DR, Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience

We are seeking an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to join our global team, developing and delivering next-generation technology systems within our fulfillment centers across Europe.

Within the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience (MSP-CX) organization, you will work backwards from customer needs, representing their voice throughout the product lifecycle—from development and deployment to support and service. Our mission is to transform stand-alone work-cells into end-to-end integrated solutions that are safe, easy to operate, maintain, deploy, and service, embodying Amazon’s leadership principles.

Successful candidates will have strong experience in technology development and testing with mechatronics equipment. This role involves managing schedule, scope, and cost planning for large-scale fulfillment technology and robotics projects across Europe. Your primary responsibilities include coordinating and executing the definition, installation, commissioning, deployment, ramp-up, and support of MSP products in the field.

You will drive continuous improvement in deployment cycle time, safety, quality, and productivity, and will work closely with hardware engineering and product teams to simplify installation processes. Additionally, you will develop project plans and technical solutions, define technology strategies, and oversee the tactical planning of complex cross-functional projects impacting schedule, scope, cost, and product performance. This role includes managing contractors and vendors, supporting resource and budget planning, and setting deployment standards to improve efficiency and machine performance based on customer feedback.

You will communicate program execution and performance both verbally and in writing, consolidating inputs from multiple internal teams. This is a travel-intensive role, requiring up to 75% travel across Europe to meet project needs.

Daily tasks include managing deployment project management and product ramp-up support, collaborating with hardware engineering, program and product managers, and internal customer teams such as site maintenance and operations. You will ensure product readiness for deployment and its capability to meet business requirements, managing project schedules and budgets, and engaging in continuous improvement activities.

The MSP CX team maintains accountability for our internal customers—Maintenance, Operations, ACES, Process Engineering, GES Ops Engineering, etc.—enabling lifecycle management of MSP solutions across three pillars : (1) Quality Assurance, (2) Deployment & Ramp-up, and (3) Support. The Quality Assurance team will focus on qualifying and testing MSP solutions from early lifecycle stages through deprecation, ensuring they meet customer needs. Deployment & Ramp-up leads on-site implementation activities from prototypes to general availability, supporting smooth field deployment. Support provides ongoing technical, safety, operational, and maintenance support for solutions in production.

  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, or similar tools
  • Design and / or implementation experience with integrated automation solutions such as material handling systems or manufacturing lines
