Senior Platform Engineer

The mission

You will continuously innovate and make the platform reliable, scalable and secure by designing new solutions and implementing them at scale. Platform’s principles are to increase development velocity, establish the backbone of SDLC, be a pillar of internal standards.

You design, build and run a Platform as a Service to our internal and external customers, the platform that is hosting the microservices. Long story short, you are involved and being owner of CI / CD, API driven automation, IaC, cloud security, observability, scalability, cost management and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and operate software to automate operations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Improve the observability with the tools for logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot either reported or suspected events that can cause disruption to our service.
• Enhance documentation and maintain a knowledge base of issues and resolutions.
• Scope, design, build, and maintain infrastructure on AWS cloud.
• Help to build and grow the DevOps mentality as an individual and in collaboration.
• Communicate and demonstrate the changes effectively to internal stakeholders (dev teams).
• Assist the development teams in defining their SLO / SLA and ensure a high availability for their services.

Job requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, and / or DevOps positions.
• Deep knowledge and experience in AWS services (EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, VPC etc).
• Understanding of the Microsoft technologies (C#, DotNet, Azure DevOps, Azure Active Directory).
• Sound knowledge of Unix systems.
• Good understanding of networking and Rest APIs.
• Hands-on experience and good understanding of CI / CD systems.
• Experience with containers such as Docker and orchestrators (AWS ECS / AWS Fargate / AWS EKS).
• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code: Terraform.
• Security in mind: understanding the security and auditing in a highly regulated environment, contributing to the security controls.
• Work with the team in a 24 / 7 on-call (weekly rotation of on-call duty).
• Nice to have: understanding of AI based infrastructure, knowledge about data management.
