DESCRIPTION

The RME (Reliability & Maintenance Engineering) - Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Program Manager will provide direct support and partnership to one or more pillars, which may include Europe Customer Fulfilment (EUCF), Amazon Logistics (EU AMZL), Amazon Transportation Services (EU ATS), and Global Specialty Fulfilment & Retail (EU GSF). This role involves supporting RME pillars in execution and leading end-to-end projects/programs. The manager will engage with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within WHS, RME, and other functions such as Operations, Ops Construction, Ops Engineering, Worldwide Engineering, R&D, Suppliers, Robotics, and Procurement to continually improve network WHS standards and procedures. The individual supports field program execution and collaborates with the WHS RME Regional Manager responsible for developing RME-related WHS programs, including procedures, processes, training, and capital projects.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Develop strong relationships and partnerships with RME and WHS leadership and key stakeholders.
  2. Travel up to 50% of the time based on business needs.
  3. Establish incident investigation, escalation, and reporting structures within your area.
  4. Conduct master incident investigations and trend analyses to inform strategic actions.
  5. Assess risks of maintenance operations, implement reduction measures, communicate policies, and track completion.
  6. Review KPIs and incidents to determine necessary WHS alerts or safety network actions, and facilitate content development through communication channels.
  7. Collaborate with High Risk Operations, OEMs, Ops Engineering, RME, and other teams on equipment-related incidents requiring design or retrofit solutions.
  8. Support RME leadership in enhancing technician engagement, safety culture, and ownership of safety issues.

We analyze incidents, review KPIs, conduct root cause investigations, and promote safe behaviors through training, policies, and engagement initiatives to strengthen Amazon's safety culture.

The RME WHS team is part of High-Risk Operations (HRO), operating under the mantra: "Safe to Operate. Operate Safely." We enable partners to manage safety risks related to machinery, equipment, and contractors, taking an end-to-end approach to risk reduction, compliance, and safety culture enhancement. Our work involves analyzing KPIs and incidents, conducting root cause analyses, and shaping safety interventions to proactively mitigate risks. We maintain policies, standards, and procedures, continuously improving through targeted programs. Our collaboration and risk management efforts are vital to maintaining world-class operational safety at Amazon.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, HR, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related fields
  • Experience leading process improvements
