We are a team of talented independent game developers building the future of indie games. As a fully remote studio, we craft a wide range of engaging and innovative games for players across the world.

We’re looking for an experienced Lua Developer to join our team and lead the scripting and systems development for our games across various platforms. This role requires strong programming fundamentals, excellent Lua scripting skills, and a good understanding of game systems, performance optimization, and cross-platform development.

You’ll work closely with our team of designers, artists, and developers to implement gameplay systems, tools, and mechanics that enhance the player experience.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and maintain efficient, clean, and scalable Lua code for core gameplay systems, tools, and features.
• Collaborate with game designers to implement engaging and responsive gameplay mechanics.
• Work with the art team to integrate assets and bring interactive features to life.
• Optimize code and game systems for performance across mobile, PC, and console platforms.
• Debug and troubleshoot technical issues, ensuring game stability and smooth player experiences.
• Implement data-driven systems that support customization, progression, and player choice.
• Contribute to technical design documentation and maintain coding best practices.
• Support testing and QA efforts by fixing bugs and incorporating feedback into development.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications :

• 2+ years of experience in game development using Lua.
• Strong understanding of game development concepts, including physics, AI, UI systems, and networking.
• Proficient in writing clean, modular, and optimized Lua code.
• Experience integrating Lua scripts into existing game engines or frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building polished, player-first experiences.
• Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced, and remote environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to take ownership of systems.
• Experience with game engines like Roblox, Defold, Love2D, or integration of Lua in engines like Unity(via plugins) or other game engines.

Nice-to-Haves :

• Familiarity with asset pipelines, animation systems, and custom tooling.
• Experience developing for mobile platforms and optimizing for performance.
• Exposure to backend integration, such as user data syncing, cloud saves, or live ops systems.
