i2CAT Foundation is seeking an Innovation Manager with a minimum of 3+ years of recent experience in IT innovation consulting and management to join its expanding Data Spaces team. Data Spaces are innovative EU data sharing and digital service ecosystems developed for strategic sectors such as Mobility, Health, and Industry.

i2CAT is a leading entity in data spaces, coordinating strategic initiatives and engaging in numerous projects. Key areas of work include:

  • The Data Space Demonstration Centre in Catalonia, collaborating with the Generalitat de Catalunya, focusing on scalable data ecosystems in Mobility, Health, and Industry, involving extensive stakeholder engagement and project lifecycle support.
  • The European Mobility Data Space, a significant EC-funded initiative, where i2CAT manages pilot implementations in Barcelona, contributing to Europe's future mobility data ecosystem.
  • Participation in various forums and working groups such as the International Data Space Association, Gaia-X, and Big Data Value Association, advancing data space standards and models.

The Data Space team at i2CAT handles coordination, technical architecture, development, pilot implementation, ecosystem engagement, and opportunity development. The role requires a blend of consulting, project management, and ecosystem development skills.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with public and private sector clients across verticals like mobility, health, and industry to define secure data exchange solutions.
  2. Engaging with stakeholders at local, national, and EU levels via events, workshops, and meetings to promote data space benefits.
  3. Supporting the technical coordination of pilot projects, working closely with engineers, project managers, and external partners.
  4. Participating in working groups on topics such as business models, governance, and ecosystem development.
  5. Developing proposals for funded projects (e.g., Horizon Europe) and creating new project opportunities with partners and clients.
