Databricks Platform Engineer

Overview

This role involves working in a consulting capacity for a large insurance company based in The Netherlands. The position is primarily remote, allowing you to reside anywhere in Spain. It is a permanent contract in Spain, with occasional team meetings or training sessions in Madrid or Malaga.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and innovate the Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra Data platforms within the Data Governance focus area.
2. Support and facilitate the use of these platforms, maintaining communication with data engineers and technical stakeholders to enable the creation of innovative data solutions and products.
3. Perform Operations & Service Delivery tasks, including Change Management, Configuration Management, Life-cycle Management (LCM), and resolving complex incidents and problems.
4. Ensure security and compliance are maintained according to company policies and procedures.
5. Proactively enhance infrastructure availability and stability, including monitoring, reliability management, and developing automations via CI/CD pipelines on Azure Cloud.

Who You Are

• Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a strong analytical mindset.
• Have at least 3 years of experience in IT and change projects.
• Possess basic knowledge of Data Management and Data Engineering.
• Have experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and Collibra Data platforms.
• Possess knowledge of Azure Cloud infrastructure, systems, and tools.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and setting up pipelines.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
