Role Overview

We are hiring a Regional HR Manager to support our EMEA region. Reporting to the Global Head of HR, you will lead the regional HR team, providing compliant and scalable HR operations, advising on HR issues across the employee lifecycle, and partnering with senior leadership. The role requires an analytical approach, attention to detail, and data interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale the regional HR team (1-4 direct reports).
  • Ensure precise and compliant HR operations.
  • Collaborate with Talent Science and Workplace Engineering teams to create integrated processes.
  • Manage talent development, succession planning, performance assessments, onboarding, and engagement initiatives.
  • Work with senior managers on performance management, organizational design, and workforce planning.
  • Coach managers on employee relations issues across countries.
  • Support training and development programs.
  • Establish trusted regional partnerships with the business.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Design policies and lead global HR projects.
  • Present HR practices at Canonical events.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong academic background from high school and university.
  • HR experience leading regional initiatives in tech companies.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on involvement in daily HR routines.
  • Experience working in remote-first organizations.
  • Knowledge of HR practices and employment law across EMEA.
  • Fluent in business English.
  • Self-motivated, organized, accurate, confident, results-oriented, open-minded, enthusiastic, energetic.
  • Willing to travel up to 4 times per year.
  • Nice-to-have : experience with immigration policies, HR qualifications (CIPD / SHRM).
