The European Commission, through the University of Alicante, invites applications for a PhD junior researcher position in a project focused on doped carbons for adsorption and catalysis. Formación

Offer Description

Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President for research staff (contract: open-ended; category: PhD junior researcher) to work on the funded project “Doped carbons for applications in adsorption and catalysis”. Reference: I-PI 29-25

The recruitment process will follow the regulations of the University of Alicante, with applications submitted electronically. The initial project details, including vacancies and responsibilities, are outlined in the annex. Successful candidates may join other projects within the same research line after the initial project or budget period ends.

A talent pool may be created from applicants who participate in all recruitment stages and meet minimum scores, to be contacted for future needs or vacancies.

Requirements for applicants

Applicants must:

  • Hold or be completing a PhD (Spanish MECES level 4 or EQF level 8). Proof of completion or payment of fees must be provided if not yet obtained.
  • Hold or be completing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (Spanish MECES level 2 or EQF level 6) plus a Master’s in Materials Science (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7), or an equivalent Master’s degree. Proof of completion or fees must be submitted if not yet obtained.
  • Have official approval or a statement of comparability for qualifications obtained overseas, with sworn translations if necessary.
  • Be a Spanish national or meet conditions outlined in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, including residency requirements.
  • Be at least 16 years old and not exceeding retirement age.
  • Possess the physical and mental capacities necessary for the role, proven by a medical certificate.
  • Not have been dismissed or disqualified from public service or employment in Spain or other relevant jurisdictions.

Selection process

Two-stage: merit assessment and personal interview (score 0-2), possibly in English. Identity proof must be provided.
