The School of Architecture (ETSAC) of the University of A Coruña (UDC) invites candidates for a part-time research
support technician position (30 hours per week) in the area of structural design and construction with timber.
Specifically, the candidate is sought who can assist with structural modeling and design tasks for timber buildings,
wood-steel and wood-concrete buildings, as well as assist with structural testing of timber components. The ideal
technician profile would be a candidate with a solid analytical and numerical foundation in structural calculations,
as well as an interest and knowledge in experimental structural research and a motivation to apply sustainable
materials such as wood in architectural structures.

Candidates will be evaluated according to the following criteria :
Specifically, the academic background will be assessed as follows :
1) The base score (BS) will be 10 points for candidates with a degree in architecture or civil engineering or other
professionally equivalent qualifications. For candidates pursuing related careers other than architecture and civil
engineering (or their equivalent), the base score will be 5 points.
2) The base score will then be multiplied by the grade point average (GPA) obtained on the academic record, which
will be normalized on a scale of 0 to 1. Thus, the grade obtained on the training scale will be the result of
multiplying BS x GPA.

a prestigious international journal (indexed in WoS) or having made a contribution to a prestigious international
conference in the field of timber structures. Candidates with one or more articles / conferences in the discipline
will receive a total of 5 points if they are first author on any of their contributions, and 2.5 points if they are co-
authors but not first author.

The contract will finish upon finishing the financial aid of the corresponding project, which will happen on
31 / 12 / 2025.
Once the results of this competition are published, a waiting list will also be published. Only cadidates scoring
equal or more than 15 points of the 25 points maximum score will be included in the waiting list.
