Descripción del empleo

Ops Engineer, MSP-CX DR, Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience

We are seeking an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineer to join our global effort to develop and deliver next-generation technology systems within our fulfillment centers in Europe.

In the Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging Customer Experience (MSP-CX) organization, we work backwards from customer needs, representing their voice throughout the product lifecycle—from development and deployment to support and service. Our mission is to transform "stand-alone work-cells" into "end-to-end integrated solutions" that are safe, easy-to-operate, maintain, deploy, and service. We prioritize raising the bar on technology deployment readiness and performance of existing systems, embodying Amazon’s leadership principles.

Successful candidates will have strong experience in technology development and testing with mechatronics equipment.

This role is responsible for planning the schedule, scope, and costs of large-scale fulfillment technology and robotics projects across Europe. The Operations Engineer will coordinate and execute the definition, installation, commissioning, deployment, ramp-up, and support of MSP products in the field. You will drive continuous improvement in deployment cycle time, safety, quality, and productivity, and will collaborate with hardware engineering and product teams to simplify installation processes. You will develop project plans and technical solutions, manage cross-functional projects impacting schedule, scope, cost, and product performance, and oversee contractors and vendors.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Strategic and tactical planning: Defining technology strategies and planning complex projects across organizations and geographies, managing resources, budgets, and deployment standards.
  2. Program strategy support: Contributing to resource and budget planning, defining deployment plans, and driving continuous improvement based on customer feedback and observations.
  3. Communication: Conveying program execution and performance updates clearly both verbally and in writing, consolidating inputs from multiple teams.
  4. Travel: This role involves travel across Europe, estimated at 75% or more, to project sites.

Daily activities include managing deployment projects, supporting product ramp-up, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring readiness, and managing schedules and budgets. You will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

The MSP CX team maintains accountability for our internal customers—Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and others—across three pillars: Quality Assurance, Deployment & Ramp-up, and Support. The team ensures MSP solutions meet customer requirements throughout their lifecycle, from qualification to deprecation.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Experience managing multiple large projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).
  • Master’s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, or business administration.
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, or similar methodologies.
  • Design and/or implementation experience with automated systems like material handling or manufacturing lines.
  • Understanding of data privacy and security policies.

Amazon is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
