The Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing new business relationships, specifically with clients in the Retail sector, and serving as the first level of support to prospective and existing clients. The role will be a split of approximately 50% of the time farming (managing and growing existing accounts) and hunting (full sales cycle from prospection to onboarding of new clients and consequent ongoing account management).
Position responsibilities :
- Develop an effective understanding of the capability, benefits, and competitive advantages of TransPerfect’s services.
- Identify prospective customers and individual organizations to focus on sales activities.
- Develop new client relationships via cold calling, internet, and trade shows.
- In coordination with Sales Management, identify, qualify, develop, and close sales opportunities.
- Promote and educate clients regarding TransPerfect’s services.
- Provide customer support and manage client expectations in liaison with the Production team.
- Manage and control pricing and contractual issues by developing a thorough understanding of company procedures.
- Cross-sell and upsell various services and solutions into various departments within the client’s company to optimize account profitability.
- Take an active role in learning about each client’s industry, business needs, and company culture to identify new business opportunities and provide a high level of service.
- Perform other special projects or duties when required.
- Perform any other special tasks that are deemed appropriate for this role as assigned by the manager / supervisor.
Essential skills and experience required :
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent.
- Superior written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Motivated with a proactive attitude.
- Results-driven, ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Good analytical skills needed to project revenues, monitor budgets, and other necessary calculations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Interest in Strategic Business Development and / or Client Services / Account Management as a long-term career path.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, work well with people from various backgrounds and cultures, build strategic relationships with clients and co-workers, work as part of a team, take active measures to solve problems, and commit to a high level of service.
Desired skills and experience :
- Previous Sales / Business Development / Account Management experience (1 year).
- Professional experience working within a corporate role for clients within the Retail sector.
- Professional working proficiency in additional languages.
