Weir Minerals Europe’s Capital Projects Team is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Proposal Engineer to support capital project proposals. This role involves analyzing technical and commercial documentation, developing project deliverables, and building cost models. It offers a unique opportunity to contribute to integrated turnkey solutions for the mining sector across Europe and North Africa, optimizing project costs and business margins. Key Responsibilities :
- Respond proactively to internal and external customer inquiries for all Weir Minerals products, including Pumps, Valves, Cyclones, and other equipment, relating to opportunities involving equipment only or fully integrated engineered solutions.
- Analyze project data, review Customer Request for Quotation (RFQ) documentation, consult with internal specialists (process, electrical, mechanical, quality, legal), develop detailed technical and commercial proposals, and produce cost estimates.
- Create basic plans and diagrams with support from the Design Department, review P&IDs, material lists, technical specifications, and data sheets to acquire equipment or services technically.
- Request pricing, negotiate with suppliers, conduct technical-economic evaluations of offers, review plans and documents, and support engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning activities.
- Develop project budgets, monitor costs, and proactively address cost-related risks.
- Create and maintain cost databases and templates to enable quick cost estimations during early opportunity development and detailed costing when scope is defined.
- Propose corrective actions and quality improvements in offer preparation, design, and presentation to increase the likelihood of securing new services.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications :
- Masters Degree in Industrial, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment engineering (especially rotating equipment), EPC construction management, or related fields.
- Proficiency with cost estimating software and tools (Excel, SAP).
- Experience with contract management in project bidding and execution.
- Team-oriented, organized, capable of planning, prioritizing, and working independently.
- Effective communication skills, capable of engaging with clients and consultants, presenting and defending technical solutions resiliently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
