Greenvolt is seeking a skilled Trading Analyst to be responsible for securing the route-to-market in the different markets where Greenvolt has presence, developing and executing strategies to ensure the successful integration of renewable energy projects into those markets. This role focuses on navigating regulatory frameworks, building partnerships with stakeholders, namely grid operators and market agents, ensuring compliance with market participation requirements.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for integrating renewable energy projects into electricity markets, balancing operational efficiency
  • and profitability.
  • Analyze market structures, regulatory frameworks, and pricing mechanisms to identify the best market access options (e.g., Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), merchant models, or energy auctions).

Contracting and Market Participation :

  • Secure the participation on the spot market (day ahead, intraday, aFRR, mFRR, etc), of pre-defined volumes of our renewable assets
  • Negotiate and manage shor term contracts, derivates, or PPAs, and grid interconnection agreements, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
  • Facilitate project registration with transmission system operators (TSOs), distribution network operators (DNOs), electricity market operators, and other relevant authorities.
  • Ensure projects comply with market rules, including renewable energy certification, grid codes, and participation in ancillary services markets.

Revenue Optimization :

  • Monitor and optimize revenue streams through participation in energy spot markets, capacity markets, and other mechanisms.
  • Ellaborate strategies to managing imbalance risk and maximizing returns from renewable energy generation.

Data Analysis and Reporting :

  • Analyze energy market trends, pricing forecasts, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on market performance, revenue generation, and compliance metrics for internal and external stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Work closely with project development, engineering, and trading teams to ensure seamless market integration.
  • Provide input on project design and financial models to align with market requirements and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, Certifications in energy trading.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on market access, regulatory compliance, or business development.
  • Proven track record in navigating complex regulatory environments and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
