We are seeking an experienced TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 Aero Electrical Engineer to join Prismecs. As an Aero Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and facilities in power generation plants. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in systems associated with aerospace and gas turbine technology. Responsibilities include the operation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems for TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 units to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Aero Electrical Engineer will contribute to the overall maintenance and operation of the power generation plant.

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and operation of electrical & control systems, DC voltage systems, high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage systems.
  2. Perform operation and maintenance activities related to auxiliary equipment of TM2500, LM2500, and LM6000 gas turbines such as TLO system, GLO system, and MCC switchgear.
  3. Execute maintenance on BOP equipment like gas and diesel gensets (ABB, L&T), Schneider switchgears, substations, and associated auxiliary and control systems.
  4. Participate proactively in Prismecs' and the global industry energy health, safety, and environment programs.
  5. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance following OEM manuals, industry best practices, procedures, policies, and guidance from the Plant Manager.
  6. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities in logbooks, reports, and digital systems.
  7. Develop and maintain operation and maintenance plans for electrical systems.
  8. Work with ANDRITZ generators and control systems, maintaining AVR2100e operation as per OEM requirements.
  9. Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, testing, and analysis of protection, transformation, HV, and MV equipment.
  10. Coordinate maintenance activities with the Plant Manager to avoid impacting plant availability.
  11. Support and train operational staff for correct plant operations.
  12. Provide mentoring and coaching to ensure proper plant operations.
  13. Address emergency situations arising from equipment failures promptly.
  14. Propose lists of necessary parts, tools, and materials for maintenance activities.
  15. Report incidents, accidents, environmental violations, or equipment failures immediately.
  16. Execute scheduled maintenance during control room shifts, including operating SCADA and protection systems.
  17. Ensure compliance with housekeeping, energy conservation, and environmental standards.
  18. Contribute to team efforts and support other plant areas to meet goals.
  19. Work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.
  20. Consult with the Plant Manager on major technical issues and work planning.
  21. Ensure proper use and care of tools and equipment by all personnel.
  22. Participate in root cause analysis and provide relevant information.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  2. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PE license) are advantageous.
  3. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  4. Minimum 3 years of experience in power generation plants with GE LM2500, LM6000, TM2500 Gen 8 plus Gen 4, 6, 7, 8 turbines. Basic RX3i knowledge required.
  5. Experience with Toolbox AVR Software and power system modeling tools (SKM, ETAP, EazyPower, CYME).
  6. Knowledge of engineering standards (CSA, NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI).
  7. Experience with CMMS systems.
  8. Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office.
  9. Basic HSE knowledge; familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18001 is a plus.
