Technical Product Specialist - Home and Building Automation

This position has a grade and reports to the EL Product Marketing Manager.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will support the sales organization and customers by providing technical support and advice, delivering product knowledge from project specification to technical support. Collaborating with the Product Manager Specialist, you will optimize the offer portfolio and generate tools for commissioning, FAQs, and technical application notes. You will ensure ABB provides proper after-sales technical support based on customer requirements and transform those requirements into qualified training and development improvements for better comprehension and installation of our solutions. Additionally, you will showcase your expertise through tools and training supporting product launches and lifecycle management of the catalogue. You will also coordinate support efforts with the internal global customer center and quality department.

The work model for this role is: #LI-hybrid. This role contributes to the home and building automation market within the Electrification Smart Building Business Area in Spain, primarily engaging stakeholders such as Distribution, Electricians, and System Integrators.

Main responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical advice and comments on enquiry specifications for customers, channels, and sales, ensuring solutions are compatible across the Product Group’s offer portfolio.
2. Proposing and preparing technical articles, videos, and media tools to deliver suitable technical solutions meeting customer needs.
3. Collaborating with local and global teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, R&D) to ensure customer satisfaction and assisting in resolving technical issues, including on-site support.
4. Driving sales efficiency, facilitating knowledge sharing, and promoting cross-collaboration.

Qualifications for the role

1. Strong skills in configurators, commissioning tools, and electrical markets.
2. At least 2 years of experience in the electrical/electronic market supporting technical or onsite support roles, or as a system integrator.
3. Knowledge of KNX systems (IP network knowledge is a plus).
4. Passion for collaboration, learning, curiosity, self-awareness, and results orientation.
5. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Control, or Automation Engineering, or Vocational Training (highly valued).
6. Fluent in English and holds a current Spanish work permit.
