Job Opportunity: Trading Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Trading Analyst to be responsible for securing the route-to-market in the different markets where Greenvolt has a presence. This role involves developing and executing strategies to ensure the successful integration of renewable energy projects into those markets. The focus is on navigating regulatory frameworks, building partnerships with stakeholders such as grid operators and market agents, and ensuring compliance with market participation requirements.

Key Accountabilities

1. Route-to-Market Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategies for integrating renewable energy projects into electricity markets, balancing operational efficiency and profitability. Analyze market structures, regulatory frameworks, and pricing mechanisms to identify the best market access options (e.g., PPAs, merchant models, energy auctions).
2. Contracting and Market Participation: Secure participation in the spot market (day-ahead, intraday, ancillary services), negotiate and manage short-term contracts, derivatives, or PPAs, and grid interconnection agreements. Facilitate project registration with TSOs, DNOs, market operators, and relevant authorities. Ensure projects comply with market rules, renewable energy certifications, grid codes, and ancillary services participation.
3. Revenue Optimization: Monitor and optimize revenue streams through participation in energy markets and mechanisms. Develop strategies to manage imbalance risk and maximize returns from renewable energy generation.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze market trends, pricing forecasts, and regulatory changes to inform decisions. Prepare reports on market performance, revenue, and compliance metrics for stakeholders.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with project development, engineering, and trading teams to ensure seamless market integration. Provide input on project design and financial models aligned with market opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or related certifications in energy trading. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, focusing on market access, regulatory compliance, or business development. Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder relationships. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
