CSL Vifor is currently looking for a Country Medical Director Iberia to be based at our office in Barcelona. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Country Medical Director Iberia to lead our medical affairs activities.

In this key leadership role, you will drive medical strategy, engage with key stakeholders, and ensure the highest standards of scientific and clinical excellence. Tasks

1. Act as a local role model for all aspects of local Medical activities.
2. Develop and maintain up-to-date scientific and medical knowledge and expertise (TAs and products).
3. Develop and lead a highly motivated and well-trained Medical team. Set clear objectives, including medical plans and key deliverables for Medical Leads, Managers / Advisors, and MSLs.
4. Coach team members on key competencies and monitor performance regularly, taking corrective actions when needed.
5. Bring healthcare / clinical practice expertise, therapeutic area knowledge, medical insights, and understanding of the local compliance system to country senior leadership for strategic and operational planning.
6. Ensure close collaboration with brand leads and market access teams to shape brand strategy and support local/regional access plans and submissions.
7. Develop and implement annual country medical plans aligned with country strategies.
8. Share local Medical insights and align planning and execution with HQ Medical teams.
9. Manage Medical budget according to strategy, including planning and tracking.
10. Identify, develop, and maintain engagement with external stakeholders and professional organizations.
11. Build positive relationships with health authorities and be involved in access strategy development and implementation.
12. Ensure development and compliant implementation of local evidence generation plans, including Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS).
13. Ensure compliant execution of medical communication plans, such as disease awareness, medical education, and congress activities.
14. Act as company spokesperson for topics assigned by the General Manager.
15. Advise on field-based medical team deployment and resource planning.
16. Analyze field activities and insights through CRM systems.
17. Approve Local Key Information Documents (LKID) used by medical information.
18. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, codes, and internal processes for all medical activities.
19. Oversee medical governance, including development, approval, and sign-off of processes and materials.
20. Review and approve local materials and HCP engagements.
21. Qualifications include a Medical Education (MD, Pharm D, PhD), with a minimum of 7 years’ pharma industry experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development, and at least 2 years in people management with strong leadership skills. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Preferred Requirements

1. Medical specialization and/or research experience in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, or Cardiology.
2. 10+ years’ experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development at affiliate or regional/global level.
3. At least 5 years proven leadership in Medical Affairs.
4. Experience with non-interventional studies, publication record, and knowledge of Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and Quality Management.
