We are seeking a passionate Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the security of our cloud environments. If you are motivated by cloud security operations, this could be the ideal role for you.

Key responsibilities include :

• Ensuring the security of cloud-based infrastructures and applications within Pearson.
• Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect our cloud environments and products, ensuring compliance with security regulations and guidelines.
• Collaborating with international cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into cloud-based solutions.
• Assessing current cloud security and proposing improvements to prevent potential threats.
• Providing security training and guidance to developer teams when required.
• Reviewing applications and software for security improvements and maintaining documentation of security controls.
• Providing security oversight and design guidance to DevOps teams.
• Integrating security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Applying thorough knowledge of cloud, network security, and web protocols.
• Utilizing modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns.
• Deploying services in multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Using security tools such as Snyk, Insight AppSec (Rapid7), Qualys Guard, Divvy Cloud, and Irius Risk.
• Employing vulnerability scanners, static analyzers, IDS / IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security monitoring.
• Developing software with object-oriented languages.
• Having experience with database programming and administration.
• Communicating effectively to elevate work to senior management and influence stakeholders.
