Descripción del empleo

We are looking for a talented Cloud System Engineer, based in our Madrid or Lausanne office, to join our Platform Cloud Service (PCS) team. Flexible working time and hybrid work is our current model.

In the Cloud Services team, we build the mission critical platform which Pix4D web product teams rely on. Our platform is the cornerstone of Pix4D’s web strategy and is heavily used by internal and external customers. For these customers reliability, security and performance must meet high standards. To achieve these standards, our agile team embraces pragmatic engineering practices such as code reviews, pair programming and continuous deployment as part of the culture and our daily work. Moreover, you will be collaborating with colleagues in different locations within Pix4D’s multicultural and multilingual environment.

You will play a central role in the architecture, development, delivery and scaling of our services. Your contribution with other software engineers will help the team increase the resiliency and capacity of our services on the platform. You will face challenges regarding a live system handling very large datasets, lots of processing capacity in the petabyte scale.

As a Cloud engineer you strive to perform operations in an invisible way for your customers, turn production incidents into learning and automation, while ensuring the security of the platform remains or improves. You are passionate about the scale of the infrastructure you are managing and the resiliency of the distributed systems in it. You enjoy sharing good practices via reviews and learning from others. You like your terminal most and hate moving a cursor around to do things ;-)

Responsibilities
  • Exercise site reliability engineering best practices in operations and infrastructure management.
  • Continuously improve the observability of the platform and the feedback loops for getting relevant information about potential problems before they happen.
  • Work on the security, performance and resiliency aspects of the processing infrastructure powering the Pix4D cloud platform.
  • Active participation in the operations of the platform.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to build, develop and deploy new solutions to improve and expand the automation and the security of the Pix4D cloud platform.
  • Actively participate in engineering discussions to share knowledge and experiences to increase expertise among engineers.
  • Investigate technologies to discover new potential applications or improvements.
Minimum Requirements
  • 4+ years of proven experience to maintain scalable, resilient, performant and observable systems.
  • Solid background in operating, maintaining and deploying services on cloud service providers (AWS is a plus).
  • AWS certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with security principles, keys management, common security flaws and best practices is a plus.
  • Excellent skills in solving problems, hunting down issues and fixing them.
  • Curious and with the willingness to understand how things work.
  • Actively looking for opportunities to make improvements in products, processes, or organization levels.
  • Proficient English language skills, written and spoken.
  • Perfect fit with Pix4D’s values: passionate, positive, collaborative and respectful attitude.
Recommended Qualifications

It is recommended to have experience with some of the following:

  • container orchestrators;
  • infrastructure as code tools like: Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible;
  • Python programming;
  • observability tools usage and configuration like: Grafana, Prometheus.

It is recommended to be able to justify some of those experiences:

  • multi-regions cloud provider deployment and management;
  • active management of high-available & public platforms;
  • cloud native automation at scale;
  • software development;
  • incident management.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR CV AND APPLICATION IN ENGLISH!
