Formación

  • Proven experience in writing technical documentation for large infrastructure projects.

Descripción del empleo

The Senior Information Standards Specialist shall support the DataInformation Standards & Governance Lead in the development of Clients Information Management Standards on behalf of our Clients Directorate.

The role holder is accountable for the timely production of project information standards working in conjunction with the other digital workstreams programme functions and third parties. The Senior Information Standards Specialist shall act as a source of expertise in information management standards and protocol development.

Key Responsibilities :

Development of Information Management Standards & Documentation

  • Support the DataInformation Standards & Governance Lead in the development of Clients Information Management Standards on behalf of the Clients Directorate.
  • Document review and update of comprehensive Information Management Standards making sure of their alignment with industry frameworks such as ISO 19650 and relevant regulatory requirements.

Governance & Compliance

  • Make sure that all Information Management Standards are consistently applied across the project supporting compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with quality assurance teams to integrate information governance checks into project workflows.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess adherence to established standards identifying and addressing noncompliance issues.
  • Maintain version control review and update programme Information Management Standards as industry standards technology and project requirements evolve.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders holding them responsible for the input of the necessary information to develop the projects Information Management Standards.
  • Advise on best practices for structuring managing and exchanging digital information.
  • Support the relevant training champions in the development of training materials to support teams in adopting and applying information standards effectively.
  • Lead the continuous refinement and improvement of the projects Information Management Standards incorporating lessons learned from project implementation.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the project knowledge repository ensuring that all project Information Management Standards and related guidance materials are easily accessible and up to date.

Qualifications :

Experience Skills and Qualifications

Experience

  • Proven experience in writing technical documentation procedural guidelines documenting information management standards and governance frameworks for large infrastructure construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards such as the ISO19650 (BIM and Information Management) series ISO8000 (Data Quality) Uniclass2015 (Classification System) and IFC (Industry Foundation Class).
  • Proven experience in structuring classifying and standardising project data and documentation.
  • Handson experience with Common Data Environments (CDEs) and information management platforms (e.g. Bentley ProjectWise and AssetWise).
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to information management in highvalue largescale rail projects.
  • Experience in planning governance and delivery having managed teams in setting goals objectives and priorities and establishing clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Driving best practice in information management processes policies and standards.
  • Dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the project.
  • Quality management and reporting.

Skills

  • Indepth understanding of information standards development data governance and structured data management.
  • Strong ability to write document and maintain technical standards guidelines and workflows.
  • Capable of identifying gaps in information governance and recommending solutions.
  • High level of accuracy in developing structured documentation and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to translate complex information management concepts into clear actionable guidance.
  • Ability to assess refine and continuously improve information management protocols and documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate important information across teams.
  • Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members and effectively balance people and processes
  • Ability to foster a committed strategic innovative and inclusive culture
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner that is positive open transparent and is a clear and effective communicator.

Formal Education Qualifications

  • Minimum level 8 degree in Information Management Data Science Engineering Construction Management or a related field.

Practicing / Training / Compliance Certification

Professional Memberships

Certifications in BIM (e.g. BRE BIM Certification ISO 19650 Practitioner) or data governance (e.g. DAMA CDMP) are highly desirable.

Additional qualifications in programmeproject management (e.g. MPS PRINCE2 PMP) or IT governance (e.g. ITIL) may be beneficial but not essential.
