Senior Data Engineer – Climate Risk & Geospatial Intelligence

Join a pioneering team developing a global SaaS platform empowering insurers, banks, corporates, and real estate investors to assess and act on location-specific climate risks. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll drive the creation, enhancement, and analysis of massive geospatial data, GenAI, and related practices. Your work will directly enable smarter decisions on climate reporting, underwriting, and investments worldwide.

Responsibilities
  1. Research, structure, and analyze global climate risk data using public, purchasable, or GenAI-driven sources.
  2. Improve name-matching algorithms for company, building, and POI datasets.
  3. Enhance, clean, and prepare large geospatial and exposure datasets for real-world applications.
  4. Support ad-hoc data processing tasks for client deliverables and content marketing.
  5. Collaborate with Product and Modeling teams to ensure high-quality, actionable data output.
  6. Document methodologies, technical pipelines, models, and software code.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in climate risk analysis.
  • Strong expertise with asset-level exposure data and name matching algorithms.
  • Programming skills in Python, SQL, R, or Databricks, Apache Spark.
  • (Nice to have) Experience with geospatial stacks: PostGIS, QGIS, ArcGIS.
  • Creative, structured thinker with a passion for sustainability and climate impact.
