As our Crawler Analyst, you will work with our internal tool to automate information extraction from websites. Each site presents unique challenges, so collaboration with the Bots (Python) team—and occasionally other teams—is essential to resolve issues and improve processes. You will also review system logs to detect errors and identify areas where development definitions may need adjustments.

Responsibilities

1. Automate information extraction from hundreds of websites using custom templates.
2. Maintain extraction procedures by updating templates (YAML files) as websites evolve.
3. Validate current templates and escalate complex cases to the Python development team.
4. Design elegant, reliable, and scalable solutions.
5. Provide feedback on the tool to facilitate ongoing improvements.

Requirements

1. Experience in web scraping, scripting, programming, or coding, with good knowledge of HTML, XPATH, and regex.
2. Experience using Linux environments (e.g., grep, awk).
3. Basic familiarity with Docker or similar containerization tools.
4. Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Jira).
5. Some familiarity with Python, though frequent use is not required.
6. Knowledge of Git for version control.
7. Proficiency in spoken and written English (our team operates internationally in English).

Nice to Have

1. Additional Python experience to facilitate problem-solving with our tools.
2. Experience working with proxies.
3. Ability to analyze logs for troubleshooting.
