Associate People & Culture Business Partner

Description

Bumble is looking for a flexible, culture-centric, curious, and proactive Associate People & Culture Business Partner (HRBP) to join our growing team, focusing on partnering with our Finance and Legal teams. Based in the US, you will work closely with People & Culture Business Partners and cross-functional specialists, with high autonomy to solve day-to-day organizational challenges through people-related solutions. You will advise, challenge, and support employees and managers as our business evolves.

Bumble is growing rapidly; therefore, the ideal candidate should be adaptable and open to an evolving scope of work, with experience handling international employment across multiple territories.

This role reports to the Director, People & Culture Business Partner, based in New York.

What you'll be doing
  1. Support Finance and Legal teams with policy application, employee cases, compensation discussions, talent development, and performance management guidance.
  2. Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers.
  3. Engage in strategic people-related projects such as team structure, employee engagement, retention, culture, and change management.
  4. Collaborate with the Compensation & Benefits team to develop compensation philosophy and reward mechanisms, advising leaders on compensation decisions.
  5. Support performance management initiatives, including designing workflows for tools like Workday.
  6. Partner with the People & Culture team to manage people processes and systems, fostering culture across our global team.
  7. Advise on staffing strategies and hiring decisions, supporting talent and succession planning.
  8. Manage complex Employee Relations cases across multiple geographies including the UK, US, and Spain.
About you
  • Experience working with Finance, Accounting, and Legal functions in startup or scale-up environments; experience in larger organizations is a bonus.
  • Solid knowledge of employee relations and employment legislation; additional country experience is advantageous.
  • Experience managing complex Employee Relations cases independently.
  • Ability to work closely with business leaders as a strategic partner and influence decisions.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and spreadsheets (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • Experience with Workday is a plus.
  • Strong understanding and passion for Bumble’s culture and mission.
  • Curious, collaborative, and proactive in seeking diverse opinions.
  • Articulate, data-driven, and confident in debates about the best business course.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, tight timelines, and multiple priorities in a startup environment.
  • Willingness to work across international time zones and a global mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Generalist background or People Ops experience preferred.

Salary & Benefits: $89,000 - $120,000 annually, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) match, and Unlimited Paid Time Off.
