Senior Software Engineer - Frontend, Community team

The Community Team

The Community Platform team develops products for players across multiple games, creating inclusive communities where players can belong, play, connect, and find friends. Our communities range from small parties to large clubs.

Parties facilitate interaction and gameplay among small groups, featuring chat, voice, a party finder, and integration with other platform features like matchmaking and leagues. Clubs serve larger communities with events, content, chat channels, custom queues, and broader social interactions.

About the Frontend Team

Our Frontend Developers oversee the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and are working on exciting new features. Our tech stack includes React, Redux, TypeScript, and Next.js.

Our teams focus on various products such as Community Integrity, Tournaments, Growth, and Monetization, constantly evolving. We also have a dedicated Frontend Platform team managing core aspects of our frontend stack. We seek innovative, like-minded individuals to contribute new ideas and improvements across our frontend community at EFG.

Requirements

• Experience building large-scale applications with React, Redux, and Next.js;
• Knowledge of React testing frameworks;
• Experience with WebSockets and real-time messaging;
• Willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks;
• Experience with complex, large applications;
• A passion for video games and esports (a plus).

Preferred additional skills include :

• Webpack;
• Code quality and readability;
• Optimization strategies (code splitting, lazy loading, tree-shaking, caching);
• Experience with testing practices (unit, e2e);
• Knowledge of web best practices and Web Vitals;
• Experience with internationalization libraries (react-intl, react-i18next);
• Scalable architecture experience serving millions of users;
• Security awareness, including OWASP attack vectors like XSS and CSRF.
