OW, a controlled 50/50 joint venture between EDP and Engie, is looking for a proactive and analytical O&M OPEX Engineer. Are you willing to join a passionate and high-performing team in a cross-cultural, fast-paced, and strongly growing environment?

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The O&M Engineer will be a member of the O&M area within the Corporate Technical Team. He or she will be responsible for performing all O&M-related activities as part of offshore wind farm development, tender and M&A processes, OPEX calculations, cost book, and supporting the definition of O&M strategy and implementation of contracts in collaboration with other technical, commercial, legal, and business areas.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Establishing the OPEX costs (using the OW OPEX digital tool) for each project within O&M. Responsible for providing OPEX figures in collaboration with Procurement for financial modeling.
  2. Providing required O&M inputs and documentation for tenders and bids, including risk assessment and risk mitigation measures.
  3. Establishing O&M requirements, implementing and overseeing a multi-contracting strategy, and developing SMA responsibility matrices.
  4. Providing relevant O&M inputs to other areas such as Business Development, WTG, Substructures, Transport & Installation, Energy Assessment, etc., ensuring interfaces are managed appropriately.
  5. Supporting the definition of the O&M strategy for the project, including setup of ports, offshore access strategy, labor, etc. Running different O&M strategies using digital tools and analyzing the results.
  6. Supporting OpEx optimization processes and considering new features in the digital tool.
  7. Supporting negotiations on O&M service contracts with OEMs, ISPs, and Ports. Assisting in the development and construction of the operational O&M Base.
  8. Tracking and sharing lessons learned related to O&M and managing improvements based on those lessons.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

A degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Industrial, Energy, Electrical, Naval, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent) is preferred. Experience in wind or other renewable energies is valued.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of OPEX costs
  • Deep technical knowledge of offshore wind project interfaces
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards
  • Postgraduate studies in Renewable Energy are a plus
  • Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Excellent data storytelling and decision-making skills
  • Ownership and responsibility in challenging projects

Additional knowledge in renewable energy, wind turbines, mechanical systems, substructures, or high voltage systems is a plus.

The working language is English. Fluency in spoken and written English is required; proficiency in other languages is valued.
