Teamwire is a secure Business Messenger App developed for mobile collaboration and mission-critical communication.

We are a safe alternative to WhatsApp for enterprises, the public sector, and healthcare.

More than half of the German police use our secure messenger app to supplement digital radios.

The app has been specially developed for operational scenarios of the police (or fire brigade or disaster control, etc.) and can do much more :

• Optimal coordination of operations thanks to live location and alerting function.
• Real-time transmission of photos + videos.
• Secure communication (100% GDPR-compliant + ISO-certified + state-of-the-art encryption technology + full data sovereignty).

This enables the police to act faster in manhunts and missing persons cases, benefiting people in danger.

Operations during demonstrations, natural disasters, and major events can be coordinated more safely and effectively.

We seek a Senior Python / Django Developer (m / f / d) for our backend team to achieve great things.

Your Profile

• You communicate fluently in English, with clarity in both speech and writing.
• You are good at communicating your ideas.
• You are proactive, communicative, and self-directed.
• You have deep Python and Django knowledge with at least 5 years of professional experience.
• You are committed to creating and documenting performant, readable code that scales in different environments.
• You have hands-on experience dealing with distributed systems.
• You are proficient in writing unit tests and designing load tests.
• You have experience working with WebSockets, push notification services, DRF, and MySQL / MariaDB.
• You have excellent debugging skills.
• You are familiar with Docker and CI pipelines.
• You are comfortable using Domain Driven Design.
• You are not afraid to tidy up and improve existing code when needed.

Your Responsibilities

• You will work in a cloud environment with modern architectures where scalability, high availability, extensibility, and resilience are essential.
• You will analyze, design, and implement highly performant and technically complex systems.
• You will work in an engineering team on various development topics.
• You will own engineering tasks and projects and drive these initiatives by yourself.
• You will develop elegant algorithms and write clean as well as maintainable code.
• You will write test cases and prepare documentation.
• You will contribute to defining how to improve performance and scalability.
• You will participate in code reviews.

Employment Type

This is a full-time role.

Our Headquarters are in Munich (Germany). If you live outside Germany, you'll have a self-employed contract ("autónomo" in Spain), but you'll receive all the perks of a "regular" employee; you'll get vacations, full coverage in times of illness, and we'll provide your laptop. Our hiring process

• Your first step will be an intro call directly with the Head of Engineering, the Engineering Manager, and our Lead Architect. Just to know each other better.
• Then, you will continue performing a technical interview with the Lead Architect and the Backend Lead. It will include a short technical online assessment.
• Then, you will meet the entire backend team and see the cultural fit.
• If the feedback is positive, you will have a call with our CEO to get to know each other.
• Last but not least, the final stage will be to receive an offer. You will always get complete feedback about your performance.
