BCMaterials, Basque Center for Materials, Applications and Nanostructures, is an autonomous research center launched in June 2012 by Ikerbasque, the Basque Foundation for Science, and the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). The center is part of the BERC network, aiming to generate knowledge on new materials and develop (multi)functional solutions and devices for societal benefit.
We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to develop and validate new sensor prototypes, conduct characterization studies on sensitivity, specificity, and reliability, and work on integrating sensors into a brain-on-chip platform. The work will be conducted at BCMaterials, in collaboration with Leartiker and Biolan research centers.
The position is part of the IKUR Neurobioscience BIOELEC project, with an expected start date of 01/07/2025 and funding until 31/12/2026. Competitive salaries aligned with EU standards will be offered to experienced researchers.
The research aims to develop next-generation brain-on-chip devices that mimic the native brain environment, facilitating understanding of neurological processes and drug screening. The approach involves integrating organoids with relevant cell lineages, electrical stimulation via materials, multimodal biological activity monitoring, data integration, and environmental control.
